Day 1 & 2 – Las Vegas
We begin our tour in Las Vegas, where we’ll stay for two nights, right on The Strip, with all its wonderfully attractions. There’s so much to see in this gamblers’ paradise, from the dancing waters at the Bellagio, to the calm canals complete with singing Gondoliers at the Venetian. Check it all out, have a little flutter, lose your jetlag and acclimatise to the heat. While you are in Las Vegas why not consider treating yourself to one of our exciting Helicopter Tours!
Day 3 – Las Vegas to 29 Palms
Leaving the hustle-bustle of Las Vegas we enter the stillness and stark beauty of the Mojave Desert as we ride south into the Mojave National Preserve. We will pass many old railroad sites and towns and we will see many of the unusual Joshua trees that grow only in this area. Briefly joining Route 66 we will visit the iconic Roy’s Café at Amboy before once again heading south to our overnight stay in Twentynine Palms.
Day 4 – 29 Palms to Borrego Springs
Continuing south we will ride through Joshua Tree National Park before picking up the shoreline of the Salton Sea. In the afternoon we will ride west out into the Anza-Borrego desert to finish the day’s ride at the beautiful oasis of Borrego Springs.
Day 5 – Borrego Springs to Big Bear Lake
Today we can look forward to some spectacular roads as we ride in a huge loop around the Anza region. Climbing from the desert floor we twist our way through the mountains. We will pass through the Cahuilla Reservation before climbing again into the Santa Rosa and San Jacinto mountains for vast vista across the desert. We will pass through Palm Springs before a final climb into the cool mountain air of Big Bear Lake.
Day 6 – Free Day at Big Bear Lake
There is so much to do, see and explore in this mountain paradise that one free day will leave you wanting more. Discover mountain trails on foot or hire a bicycle; enjoy canoeing, sailing, fishing or just paddling in the 7-mile lake. Or simply explore the numerous shops, bars and restaurants within easy walking distance or our hotel.
Day 7 – Big Bear Lake to Santa Clarita
With some of the best riding roads you will experience anywhere in the world today we’ll take in the Crestline Highway, the ‘Rim of the World’ and the amazing Angeles Crest Highway.
Day 8 – Santa Clarita to Lake Isabella
Today we head north through California, skirting the edge of the great Mojave desert and into the southern Sierra Nevada. We stop the night at the beautiful small town of Lake Isabella, nestled on the shoreline of the lake which gives it the name.
Day 9 – Lake Isabella to Death Valley
Today we ride into Death Valley, the lowest place in North America, and the hottest place on earth! Our route will take us hundreds of feet below sea level to the valley basin, and the ancient mudflats of long-forgotten seas.
Day 10 – Death Valley to Las Vegas
Time to head back into Las Vegas. A series of sweeping mountain curves lift us out of Death Valley as we ride through Indian Springs and back into Sin City. Perhaps we’ll meet up in the evening for a farewell meal to swap stories of our adventures.
Day 11 – Departure Day
Sadly, the end of the tour. Depart for Las Vegas McCarran Airport, homeward bound with happy memories.
