Our hotel is perfectly situated in the heart of the French Quarter, within easy walking distance of Bourbon Street, Frenchmen Street and the bustling French Market where every kind of live Jazz, Blues, R & B, Country, and many others abound!

Day 2 Free Day New Orleans Today you have the day to explore New Orleans. Go on a steamboat cruise down the Mississippi, take a tour of New Orleans which includes the fascinating Lafayette Cemetery, or just indulge yourself in the multitude of sights, sounds, smells, places and people that this thriving city has to show you! Later this afternoon, we’ll take you to collect your motorcycle.

Day 3  New Orleans to Henderson, Louisiana 167 miles  Today is all about the old sugar plantations of the Deep South. We’ll ride through corridors of sugar cane, and through the little historic town of Franklyn, with its pretty, tree lined avenues, and passing some beautiful old antebellum plantation houses which have been lovingly restored. Here we will stay overnight, perched right on the Bayou at Henderson, Louisiana. Son of a gun, we’ll have some fun tonight!

Day 4  Henderson to Galveston, Texas 263 miles  The heavily forested US 190 is our preferred road for today, taking us almost directly west through many small towns and villages on the outskirts of Lafayette. As we approach our destination of Galveston, we’ll take a ferry over the bay, and remember to keep your eyes out for the dolphins who live in the bay! Galveston is a busy coastal town with many busy bars and restaurants where we can chill out for the evening.

Day 5 Galveston to San Antonio 273 miles Today we head towards Western Texas, and leave the South behind us. We will be taking the coastal route out of Galveston, passing huge homes built on stilts to cope with tidal flooding, on a road that sometimes appears to be lower than the ocean!

Day 6 Free Day in San Antonio, Texas  A visit to the Alamo today is a must, to learn some of the history and background of this once heavily disputed Texan city. Enjoy a stroll or a boat cruise along the famous San Antonio River Walk with its many cafes, restaurants, shops and bars and spend the evening listening to live music, and enjoy the sound of local Mariachi bands.

Day 7  San Antonio to Alpine, Texas 362 miles Time to head deeper into Texas, where we may spot the occasional wrangler going about his daily business on horseback. We will stop in the busy town of Del Rio for a delicious Mexican lunch.  Continuing along the route of the Mexican Border, we’ll cross the Pecos River with its spectacular views, then onward to our overnight stop in Alpine.

Day 8  Alpine, Texas to El Paso 229 miles Our journey continues westwards, riding through the beautiful Davison Mountains, with smooth sweeping bends, before joining the freeway to El Paso. We might just call in at Barnett Harley Davidson, otherwise known as ‘The Largest Harley Davidson Dealers in the USA’, if time allows. Our evening gives us the opportunity to eat at a number of restaurants near our comfortable hotel on the outskirts of El Paso.

Day 9 El Paso, New Mexico to Tombstone Arizona 280 miles  This part of the journey takes us through some of the most deserted roads in the southern USA via the famous Geronimo Surrender Monument at Apache, truly an inspiring days ride.  Here we arrive for our night in “The Town that’s too tough to die” – Tombstone, Arizona. While away the evening roaming the old boardwalks, taking a drink in Big Nose Kate’s Saloon or grab a great steak at The Longhorn Saloon, or one of the many other authentic restaurants.

Day 10  Free Day in Tombstone A free day to explore the many attractions of Tombstone: discover Boothill Graveyard;  visit the OK Corral and watch the entertaining and informative re-enactment of the famous gunfight; take a stagecoach ride around the town; investigate the many and varied shops or simply hang out in one of the town’s many cowboy saloons.

Day 11 Tombstone, Arizona to Ajo 214 miles Heading further West today passing lots of Saguaro cactus, we skirt the cowboy town of Tucson, and through the wide open spaces of southern Arizona and through a number of towns and villages that are heavily influenced by the architecture of nearby Mexico. Tonight we stay in a charming historic little town, once famous for its copper mines.

Day 12  Ajo, Arizona to Borrego Springs California 297 miles This morning we ride towards the Salton Sea which lies at 71 metres below sea level and directly on the San Andreas Fault line. Our overnight stay in Borrego Springs lies deep in the heart of the Californian high mountain deserts where an oasis of swimming pools, cool beers, good food and desert breezes await us.

Day 13  Borrego Springs to Los Angeles, California 168 miles We’re heading out into the stunning Santa Rosa Mountains, and towards the US74 to Lake Elsinore. We soon join the freeway to Los Angeles to return our bikes before our last night of the tour, in the ‘City of Angels’.  Perhaps we’ll all get together tonight to recap on all the wonderful places we’ve been, and swap stories of our Epic Coast to Coast ride!
