This is a relaxed motorcycle tour with shorter riding times, designed for any level of rider. We stay on top of three Himalayan vantage points; Nagarkot, Pattale & Dulikhel to catch sight of the majestic Himalayas. Explore the old kingdom of Kathmandu by motorbike before heading off to experience the amazing range of Nepal’s lustrous landscapes. You will ride through the valleys of the Sun Kosi (River of Gold) to reach a newly built road set just across from Mount Everest amongst 5 other mighty 8000+m peaks and more 6000m+ peaks of the Himalayan range of mountains. We enter the Solukhumbu region of Nepal, the most popular region for trekking in Nepal and home to Mount Everest.

Day 1 Kathmandu

Free day for arrivals

Usually flights are overnight so you should allow an extra day for the journey to Kathmandu. Once you arrive at Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport we will pick you up directly from the airport transfer you to your 5* hotel. There will be the opportunity for exploration of the ancient city in your own time this day depending on your time of arrival.

Day 2 Nagarkot 30km (2.5hrs riding time)

This morning there’ll be a lazy few hours to recover from any jet lag and relax at the hotel or go for a wander in the hustle and bustle of the city. Around midday the adventure begins as we ride out towards Nagarkot on the valley rim, where fantastic views of the mountains lie ahead. You’ll be able to relax with a swim at Club Himalaya which resides on the hilltop, being the best location for views of the valley and the Himalayas.

Day 3 Besi Beach Camping 112km ( 3.5hrs riding time approx.)

We’ll wind our way downhill through forested roads and come out by the Sun Kosi River (River of Gold). It’s a beautiful road alongside the river with the wide river valley meandering through the 2000m+ hills. 

Day 4 Pattale 124km (5hrs riding time approx.)

A challenging ride today as we increase our altitude to 3000m and head to our Everest viewpoint destination. The Sun Kosi stretches out beneath us as we wind our way up the hillsides into the Solukhumbu region. There are many switchbacks and possibly spoilt sections of the road today, depending on the season there may be some shallow river crossings also. You will arrive in time for the sunset view from your hotel of over thirty-nine peaks of the Himalaya, including Mt. Everest.

Day 5 Phaplu (Rest Day) 

This is a free rest day for walking or riding around and taking in the mountain air. There are small mountain villages scattered around and also some dirt tracks which are a lot of fun for riding or walking around the stunning alpine scenery of the 9000ft+ hillsides. There is an option to visit the Tibetan monastery situated about 60km away on an unpaved route. You also can travel in the support vehicle to visit this authentic working Buddhist monastery.

Day 6 Mulkhot 143km (5.5hrs riding time approx.)

Today we travel back down on the narrow mountain roads to the hot valley floor dropping from 3000m to 595m. The temperature slowly rises as we descend back down to the valley floor. Riding on this quite road we travel by small hillside villages until we reach the main highway which will take us to the small town of Mulkhot.

Day 7 Dhulikhel 67km (2hrs riding time approx.)

A short ride today to the town of Dhulikhel situated on top of a ridge renowned for its beautiful mountain views, and often frequented by tourists wanting to catch a glimpse of the majestic Himalayas. Dhulikhel is not far from Kathmandu, originally a small Newari town, now developed to a larger, dustier and chaotic highway town.

Day 8 Haatiban 42km (3hrs riding time approx.)

We enter Kathmandu valley and ride through the chaotic city traffic slowly making our way to the southside of the city where we leave the dust behind us and ride up a short but steep hill to a secluded resort at the edge of a fresh pine forest with views of the whole of Kathmandu valley below us.

Day 9 Kathmandu 20km (1hr riding time approx.)

This morning we ride the short distance back to Kathmandu. If you want to do some sightseeing then you can come along for a rickshaw ride through Thamel the touristic quarter of Kathmandu, down towards Hanuman Dhoka at Kathmandu Durbar Square, one of the beautiful UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Here you’ll be taken for a short guided tour, then after stopping to taste some local delicacies on the way back through the old market. The rest of the day is at your own leisure.

Day 10 Departures

Time to say farewell to Nepal and your guides. We will drop you back to the international airport in time for your onward flight
