Welcome to an amazing 15-day tour in the majestic Himalayas. On this spectacular tour, you will discover the proud Himalayas, ride across the highest drivable passes in the world (Khardung La), and explore beautiful Buddhist Monasteries on a Royal Enfield Motorcycle. The Himalayas hide within their folds of the mesmerizing lands of Ladakh and Zanskar, thus the best way to explore this beautiful region is probably on a motorcycle. Although the terrain can be treacherous, with safety measures of the highest standard in place, a pleasant tour experience is waiting for you.
Meet the charming locals and the always smiling and pleasant Tibetan Buddhists. The beautiful monasteries and temples found in this region are lifetime memories. Driving through these beautiful and deep valleys, snow-capped mountain ranges, lush forest and beautiful lakes, breathing in the fresh mountain air, exploring the flora and fauna is a truly spectacular experience.
Please note this tour rides in high altitudes and some outskirt areas, where we will stay in local tented camps. Please bring clothing and equipment for both warm & cold temperatures.

Day 1: Departure - Arrival Kathmandu, Nepal (1400m)
Welcome to Nepal!
Arrival at Kathmandu International Tribhuvan Airport. Meet & Greet at the airport with a member of the Ride Nepal team and be transferred to the boutique hotel. Spend the rest of the day at your leisure.
Day 2: Kathmandu - Nagarkot (1900m)
(Driving day 1: 31 km/50 miles)
For your first day of riding, we take you on mixed terrain to familiarize you with the bikes and the Nepali riding style. We make our way through the hustle and bustle of Kathmandu to Nagarkot. Nagarkot sits on the Kathmandu valley rim and has stunning views of Kathmandu valley on one side and panoramic views of the Himalayas on the other. Tonight we stay at the exceptional hotel Club Himalaya.
Day 3: Nagarkot - Charikot (2000m)
(Driving day 2: 135 km/217 miles)
After breakfast, we leave Nagarkot and head East along the hilly mountain roads. We will ride a mixture of tarmac and broken tarmac roads, stopping for lunch along the way. We arrive at Charikot in the late afternoon where views from the Swiss-style Charikot Panorama Resort of Mount Gauri Shankar can be enjoyed along with the mountains over in Tibet.
Day 4: Charikot - Mulkhot (550m)

More tarmac/broken tarmac riding today, besides the Sunkosi river (River of Gold) and the Tama Kosi River, many switchbacks take us down a steep hillside on a newly tarmac-ed road, with beautiful views as you descend into the hot river valley. Tonight we lodge at the comfortable ‘roadside’ Taj Resort.
Day 5: Mulkhot - Phaplu (2500m)

Day 6: Phaplu - Jhapre (2900m)
(Driving day 5: 61 km/98 miles)
Today we have a great opportunity to visit the Junbesi and Thuptencholing Tibetan monasteries along an unpaved road. A definite highlight of the trip, where you get to see what a living autonomous monastery looks like.
Day 7: Jhapre - Dhanusa (180m)
(Driving day 6: 201 km/323 miles)
Retracing our route part of the way down we head towards the flatlands of the Terai. Today you’ll cover many climatic zones; Sub-Alpine, Alpine and Sub-Tropical and Tropical. In the evening we have a special bullock cart ride and BBQ planned as we camp outside tonight. (All camping gear provided for).
Day 8: Dhanusa - Chitvan (180m)
(Driving day 7: 221 km/355 miles)
Today we ride mostly on a straight, flat, busy highway running East-West along the length of Nepal near to the Indian border. We head to the border of Chitwan national park and the incredible jungle lodges, built on stilts, of Tigerland.

Rest Day for Jungle Safari. Early morning is the best time to go out on safari, whether that is by 4×4, on foot, or even by an elephant. The national park is home to the world’s largest terrestrial mammal, the wild elephant, and the world’s smallest, the pygmy shrew. It is also home to 544 different species of birds plus the one-horned rhino and not to forget the Royal Bengal Tiger
Day 10: Chitvan - Lumbini (150m)
(Driving day 8: 158 km/254 miles)
We ride further west today towards Lumbini along tarmac roads. Lumbini is the birthplace of Buddha, located in the southern flatlands of Nepal. In the evening take a stroll around Lumbini Gardens and soak up the peaceful atmosphere.
Day 11: Lumbini - Pokhara (800m)
(Driving day 9: 194 km/312 miles)
Departing in the morning we ride north along tarmac roads and slowly start to head back to the hilly regions of Nepal. Catching glimpses of the Himalayas from the road we arrive in Pokhara in the afternoon for breathtaking views of Mt.Fishtail reflected in the tranquil waters of Fewa Lake. Relax by the lakeside in the evening with tonight’s lodgings at the James Bond-esque style luxury Fishtail Lodge.
Day 12: Pokhara (800m)

Optional Activities/Ride Outs: Ride to Kalopani, Lower Mustang (with overnight stay) Grab the opportunity to ride into a completely different landscape and get up-close views of the Himalayas all whilst practicing your off-road riding skills. A good level of fitness is recommended. For those staying in Pokhara: Paragliding, Bungee Jump, White Water Rafting.
Day 13: Pokhara (800m)

Another day with fun & exciting Ride Outs! Optional Activities: Paragliding, Bungee Jump, White Water Rafting.
Day 14: Pokhara - Kathmandu (1400m)
(Driving day 10: 202 km/325 miles)
We ride back on the main highway to Kathmandu for your final day of riding. Mainly tarmac but with some sections of broken tarmac also. When back in Kathmandu we will enjoy a celebratory meal of your Himalayan adventure!
Day 15: Departure Kathmandu - Home travel
You will be transferred back to the airport in time for your onward flight. Time to say farewell to Nepal, before your next visit! We wish you a safe trip home and hope to see you again on one of our other tours in the US, South America, Asia, Oceania, or Europe.
