Braveheart Scottish Tour

This eight day tour takes you through 1,000 miles of the most spectacular scenery that Scotland has to offer. We will take in the route of the Scottish North Coast 500, whilst detouring to enjoy time in Scotland’s capital city, Edinburgh, visit Stirling, home of the William Wallace (Braveheart) monument, ride the shores of Loch Lomond and Loch Ness and visit a whiskey distillery on the Isle of Skye.

Day 1

Arrive in Edinburgh and transfer to our comfortable city centre hotel. Enjoy a welcome evening meal and meet up with your fellow travellers and tour guides.

Day 2

A day to relax and explore the wonderful cultural heritage of Scotland’s capital city. Visit the castle, roam the Royal Mile and explore the numerous shops, cafes and restaurants around Grass Market and Princess Street. All within easy walking distance of your hotel.

Day 3

Today we collect our bikes and head north into the beautiful Scottish Highlands. We will pass through Stirling with its impressive monument to William ‘Braveheart’ Wallace and ride along the shores of bonnie Loch Lomond. Then we head into the mountains, passing through the stunning scenery of Glencoe, ending our day at the foot of Ben Nevis, Britain’s highest mountain. (175 miles)

Day 4

Today we will ride across the famous Skye Bridge onto the Isle of Skye. In the afternoon you will have the opportunity to explore the island and to visit the world renowned Talisker Distillery. (130 miles)

Day 5

Today we will follow the rugged west coast, heading north towards Ullapool. We will ride the exhilarating Bealach na Ba pass to Applecross and explore the coastal fishing villages of Wester Ross. This will be a day of demanding but highly rewarding riding on narrow mountain passes with steep and uneven surfaces and tight bends. (200 miles)

Day 6

Today we will reach the very north of Scotland and follow the coast to John O’Groats, the most northerly village in mainland Britain. Today the scenery opens up to big skies, sweeping open roads and beautiful sea lochs. (200 miles)

Day 7

We turn south and head for the famous Loch Ness, where there will be opportunity to go hunting for Nessie, the Loch Ness monster and explore the ruins of Urquhart Castle. We will stay the night on the shores of the loch. (120 miles)

Day 8

On our final day of riding we follow the shores of Loch Ness before crossing the mountains to the beautiful town of Pitlochry. We then ride south across the Forth road bridge to return to Edinburgh in the afternoon. (180 miles)
