Join us for an epic ride from the wilds of Alaska, through the Yukon and British Columbia, across the Rockies and down the Pacific Coast into California. We offer two options for this tour: You can leave the ride after 12 days in Portland, Oregon, or you can continue with us for a further 4 days to ride all the way to San Francisco, California.
DAY 1 – Arrive in Anchorage, AK
Your motorcycle adventure starts with your arrival in Anchorage. Hotel check-in. Meet the other riders in the group at the Welcome Dinner this evening.
DAY 2 – Anchorage, AK to Tok, AK: (318 miles)
Today we head north, travelling deep into the wild of Alaska. We ride the Glenn Highway, a designated National Forest Scenic Byway,.and skirt the northern fringe of Wrangell-St. Elias National Park, the largest national park in the U.S.
DAY 3 – Tok, AK to Whitehorse, YT: (386 miles)
Today we cross into Yukon territory, Canada. We will experience open roads and see plenty of wildlife as we ride through the snow-capped mountains of Kluane First Nation and alongside Kluane Lake toward the headwaters of the Yukon river. We are now in gold-digging country!
DAY 4 – Free day in Whitehorse, YT:
This is an opportunity to explore Whitehorse’s gold rush history and diverse culture.
DAY 5 – Whitehorse, YT to Liard Hot Springs, BC: (401 miles)
Today we cross from Yukon Territory into British Columbia. First following the shores of Marsh lake and then Teslin Lake we end the day with an opportunity to relax in the natural hot springs at Liard River Hot Springs Provincial Park.
DAY 6 – Liard Hot Springs, BC to Ft. Nelson, BC: (190 miles)
Today we trace the path of early trail blazers who opened the way into the great Canadian wilderness. Passing through Stone Mountain Provincial Park we will ride past sweeping views, pristine lakes, rivers, and wildlife. This is the great Canadian boreal forest.
DAY 7 – Ft. Nelson, BC to Dawson Creek, BC: (282 miles)
This is another day in the spectacular wide-open spaces of this isolated part of Canada. Look out for wildlife as we ride the Alaska Highway. We might see Buffalo, Black and Grizzly Bears, Elk and Big Horn Sheep.
DAY 8 – Dawson Creek, BC to Quesnel, BC: (325 miles)
We will pick up the John Hart Highway and climb over the Rocky Mountains to Prince George. We then follow the Fraser River due south to Quesnel, the commercial centre of the 1862 Cariboo Gold Rush. There are over 30 heritage sites around the city that reflect its gold prospecting past.
DAY 9 – Quesnel, BC to Okanagan Valley, BC: (348 miles)
Today we head south, retracing the steps of the gold prospectors who travelled north this way in the 1860s. We will ride twisting mountain roads before dropping into the rolling farmland of southern British Columbia. We end the day in Okanagan Valley, BC.
DAY 10 – Okanagan Valley, BC to Leavenworth, WA: (355 miles)
Today we descend the Okanagan Valley to leave British Columbia and enter Washington State, USA. Here we will ride some beautiful twisty roads as we head for the Bavarian-style village of Leavenworth in the Cascade Mountains, central Washington State. In the evening you can enjoy restaurants serving German beer and food.
DAY 11 – Leavenworth, WA to Portland, OR: (278 miles)
We start the day with some great riding through the Cascade Mountains before heading into the Gifford-Pinchott National Forest. We cross the Columbia River and pass into Oregon to end the day’s ride in Portland, OR.
DAY 12 – Free day in Portland, OR:
For those leaving the tour at this point it is time to say goodbye. For those continuing to San Francisco this is a free day to explore Portland, Oregon’s largest city. It’s known for its microbreweries and coffeehouses and thriving art, theatre and music scenes.
DAY 13 – Portland, OR to Bandon, OR: (244 miles)
Today we head for the Pacific Ocean and the Oregon Coast Highway. We will pass through the Siuslaw National Forest and cross the mighty Umpqua River before ending our day’s ride in the picturesque town of Bandon, located at the mouth of the Coquille River.
DAY 14 – Bandon, OR to Eureka, CA: (200 miles)
Today we hug the Pacific coast as we ride through the land of giant redwoods. Following the Newton B Drury Scenic parkway and the Redwood Highway we pass through Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park and Redwood National Park.
DAY 15 – Eureka, CA to San Francisco, CA: (300 miles)
More spectacular woodland today as we follow the Avenue of the Giants through Humboldt Redwoods State Park. We pass Santa Rosa to end our ride in the beautiful city of San Francisco.
DAY 16 – San Francisco, CA Departure.
If you have the time, why not stay on an extra night or two to explore this vibrant city, known for its iconic Golden Gate Bridge, cable cars and colourful Victorian houses. You could maybe book a tour of the notorious Alcatraz Island, site of the former prison.

Supplementary Liability Insurance is also available at £18 per day.
In the case of major Exchange Rate fluctuations, we reserve the right to alter prices and issue a currency surcharge/refund if necessary.
A deposit of £300 per bike is all you need to reserve your place more than 24 weeks before the tour starts. 50% of the tour price is then 24 weeks before the tour starts and the balance is due 12 weeks before the tour starts. We hold a pre-tour meeting around 6 – 8 week before departure, where we give a detailed talk on what to expect on your guided tour, information on riding in the USA, what to wear and bring, and we provide you with an information pack. The meeting also give you the opportunity to ask questions, meet your fellow riders, and revs up your excitement for our Alaska to California guided motorcycle tours USA!
